thats what happens when your engine cant cool properly
maybe your water:fluid ratio is to high and u need more radiator fluid, your electric fans behind your radiator may not be working either. what type of environment do u drive in? heavy traffic high heat, slow driving hilly desert?

Sounds like your water temperature sensor needs changing or the worst thing is your fan is not working or the coolant system needs bleeding properly also the right water to anti freeze ratio in the system

I came to realize that driving at 70 mph will cause air to be sucked in system and then it starts to over heat,

take cap off radiator confirms water is not flowing by adding water and carefully reaching under car to lower main water hose and squeezing it to burp system will eventually bleed out system and water will flow in radiator

still not sure what is causing this

Maybe you should consider investing in another vehicle. How many miles does it have on it, and what year model? Maybe you need a new radiator all together.

Check your oil, too low of an oil level will cause it, and you better check it quick if it happens.

Good Luck.
