I agree its probably a yeast rash, you go to the doc and they will give you a script, but you can buy many over the counters that will work just as well. Monistat 7, Jock itch creams, anything with lotrimin in it. Monistat 7 gives you the best bang for your buck. You won't feel you have to use it sparingly. Being over the counter, they are all low % and unless there is some odd allergy to these meds, it will work fast, a day or 2 should see big improvement. To speed it up even faster, every few diaper changes, let the diaper area air out without A diaper on. If you cannot do this, use a hair dryer on cold setting to dry the diaper area. Then dab some diluted vinegar onto the diaper area. Mix 1 tblsp to a cup of water. Fungas cannot live with vinegar (good for household fungus, too, gals.). Very important, If you skimp on diapers, stop that for now. Buy the good brands and change frequently at least until this clears up. If there is open sores, bleeding or weepy areas go to see a doctor, cuz there is risk of a secondary infection.

Try to change her diaper as quickly as you can after she urinates or has a bowel movement because either one will cause burning and irritation to the rash. Rinse her little bum off with plain water after you clean her so there is no soap or residue from the wipe to irritate her skin. Let her go without a diaper for a while so the air will hit it and help to dry it out. If you don't see improvement soon, talk to your pharmacist or call the pediatrician. Poor baby.

I'd try frequent baths, which will help cool it down. If it's just a diaper rash, use a combination of petroleum jelly and Desetin, and wipe with wet washcloths instead of wipes, which may irritate the skin even worse. If this doesn't clear up the rash in a few days, go see a doctor.

Do not use diaper wipes many contain alcohol which stings when they have a rash. Use a soft cloth wet with water and dab do not wipe or you can rinse her with cool water in the bath. Let her go without a diaper whenever possible until it clears up. Desitin is tops in my book. If she has diarrhea you won't be able to get rid of the rash until you get that stopped. I had a nurse tell me to try the anti-fungal cream but my daughter screamed because it burnt, I would not do that without checking with your doc first. Our doc told us to mix cold cream (like Pond's) with liquid antacid(Maalox)half and half. My friend swears by this. Good luck.

i would take her to the doctor to have it checked out. sometimes rashes in the diaper area are more than just diaper rash and might need a prescription cream or oral antibiotics. don't put any powders on her diaper area, as these can just make matters worse. make sure she gets changed every hour or so and keep the area a clean and dry as possible until you can get her to the doctor.

Could be standard nappy rash, could be the very start of teething. I would suggesst any brand name cream, I am in the UK and I found Bepanthen to be wonderful. Change her as often as possible and give her some bare bottom time. Some babies are just prone to this unfortuantely, but keep her clean and dry as often as you can and she will be happier

She actually might have a yeast infection....The best thing to do is buy some of that antifungal cream (for feet..I know sounds silly, but Ive had 3 kids and my youngest is 5 months) and put that on her bottom...It will go away in no time...especially if the others arent working..it might be yeast.....good luck

Try bathing her and using cornstarch on her bum..it'll keep her skin dry and it has no perfume to irritate her skin. If her rash is really bad use a cream like penaten as well as the cornstarch. This is what I did for my babies and it worked very well.

Keep her dry dry dry!!!
My daughter is the only one of my kids that kept a rash for 3 days and its because as soon as I noticed it coming I changed them more and more often til it was right color again. Also make sure to clean with baby wipes every time you change.
I NEVER put anything on their bottoms either.

put the balmex on then sprinkle some baby powder this is what I do for my son it holds the rash cream there and doesn't let moisture in (when the baby pees it can remove the cream and irritate the rash)
