2u^4v^9*12u^4v^9/6u^4*v^4

I came up with 4u^4V^20.5 but it doesn't seem right or is it?

2u^4v^9*12u^4v^9/6u^4*v^4 = 4v^5u^4v^9 = 4v^14u^4

Remeber that when you "cancel" exponents you are acutally subtracting them.

Thus v^9 / v^4 = v^(9-4) = v^5 etc....

So dividing exponents means you are subtracting them.
So multiplying exponents means you will add them.

So v^9v^5 = v^(9+5) = v^14
