I am trying to find the phone # of a business, or find out if the business actually exists (ie. if it is registured with the state, business license exc...) Is there any free web sites I could go to?

If you know the business name, then you can go to http://www.bbb.org and look it up.

if its a corporation, often the Department of State has a fee web site to check corporate names. My friend, other than you, is google!

Either loook in a phone book or call the operater they will give you anybody number.

if you know the name of the business, you can go to city hall and go to the department of public records, freedom of information act
