I would like to opt out of the NHS spine so that my personal details are not available to about 50,000 NHS staff all over the UK. I have not been asked for my consent for these details to transferred to the spine and I would like them removed. However, my GP surgery does not have any information on how patients can 'opt out'.

You would need a legal opinion. The data protection act restricts data sharing except under very stringent rules.
