Yes, if you own it. You must get permits. I have a friend that buried her daughter that was killed in a car accident on property she and her husband owned. They ended up divorced and she had to be moved to a public cemetery. The land had been in her husbands family.

well my grandfather is buried on his property which i now live on. I think in some states you have to have some sort of permission........... I wouldn't recommend it because if you ever want to sale the property the body has to be unburied and relocated which is a lot of work

If you have a large enough piece of land, you may be able to section part of it off for a family cemetery. It will have to surveyed, and documented at the court house.
I'm not sure, but this what I have heard when I first began checking into it.

that sound like something the city or county would want a piece of. there would probably be some kind of charge, even if you owned the land and the burial place would have to meet specifications for interrment. so the burial land would have to be inspected by the proper agency.

Best to research your city or county ordinances before reburying Jimmy Hoffa in your backyard.
