Hey I am due on July 28, were almost there! If you aren't experiancing anything labor wise you could be dilated at 3cm for quite some time.
I have been told by countless of people that walking is one of the best things you can do. I make sure I walk as much as I can every day.

The best person to ask is your doctor. But I'd say, not too long now, you'll find that the second is alot easier than the first. Be confident, you've been here before. You've already been a MOM. Be Happy, and CONGRATULATION, TO YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!
A first for all, first second child, and first brother or sister. The family grows together, and both parent have someone to carry at the park when out for fun. Of course you carry the little one, dad get to be the horse in the horseback ride.

that is giant if there became some thanks to make your self dilate. in spite of the indisputable fact that, because the mother of four toddlers all born previous their due dates (by technique of 9 days, 11 days, 5 days, and 7 days), i am going to assure you that in spite of my ideal efforts there became no direct correlation between what I did and when I went into exertions. With my third toddler, i became dilated for 7 weeks before she became born and had Braxton Hicks Contractions for 3 months yet she nevertheless became born previous her due date. you could attempt walking, having sex, eating exceptionally spiced meals, utilising down bumpy decrease back roads, eating pineapple, ingesting Castor oil, utilising nipple stimulation, rolling round on an workout ball and washing flooring on your fingers and knees, yet contained in the accurate except your body and your toddler are waiting besides none of those issues are going to artwork. in case you could make your self dilate, no toddler may ever be born previous their due date and few females may likely even get to 40 weeks. Being depressing on the accurate isn't any interesting, in spite of the indisputable fact that it truly is widespread. Even having a medical induction doesn't always artwork properly if the toddler purely isn't waiting yet plus some females journey not basic labors with induction so letting nature take it is route each and each and every time plausible is often better for both mom and toddler contained in the destiny.

whats the difference how long it takes. when the kid is 18 and giving you a hard time, you're going to tell him/her your were in labor for 36 hours anyway to lay on that Mom guilt.....hahahahahahahahaha
Seriously though, you may make it to the 27th or beyond. Untill you are fully dialated, its not gonna happen. As for speeding it up, nothing has been proven to work, and for the health of you and the baby, you should want to let it all play aout naturally anyway.

sometimes walking helps, warm showers. sometimes with the second the labor isn't as intense, so really pay attention, you may be having contractions and not have much pain. my first was painful and only took 6 hours, my second was not, it would start and stop, start and stop, until the very end of the labor, and then it wasn't horrible. But the labor started on Halloween and i had the baby on nov 13. Good luck, and congrats on a healthy baby.

Keep waiting. Walk, if you really want, and console yourself that the baby is easier to care for inside than outside...
I was dilated for the last month, and at 4 for the last week of my second. My friend was at 4 for a full month, but that was her 4th.
Good luck, and I hope delivery goes well.

Stripping the Membranes
worked for me when we were in the same boat, as your doctor if they are willing. Mine was...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stripping the membranes is where a health care provider will separate your bag of water from the cervix, it is not intended to break your water, however, it may. It may also cause infection, and may be painful for some.
The reason that we tell people that we are stripping their membranes is to "get things going" in regards to labor. This little technique is usually done during a vaginal exam at the end of pregnancy, with or without the knowledge or consent of the woman.
Stripping the membranes, we are told, is supposed to stimulate production of prostiglandins in the cervix and bring on contractions. I have heard doctors tell my clients after stripping their membranes they will have the baby in two days. While this may appear to work for some, at term it's all a guessing game. There is no scientific work to date that can back up the routine procedure of stripping membranes.
You may want to ask your care provider to avoid this procedure if you are worried about the effects and risks. Or you may want to avoid vaginal exams during the end of pregnancy for the same reasons, because unfortunately the cannot accurately predict when we will give birth.

Why do you want to rush it!! Things are going to get crazy around your house soon enough with baby number two. I remember they almost had to throw me out of the hospital with baby number three, haha. I know you are tired of waiting, i have been there too. Yes, i was dilated 2cms for over two weeks with my third one. Try walking with your husband and first born, spending some time together before that little bundle of joy arrives.

3 cms is pretty dilated, but to speed up the process and make for an easier delivery, WALK. Walk around the mall, walk around the neighborhood, walk, walk, walk. Good luck.
