How can I use 2 PC's at once?

Just get a Router or a HUB....

Since one connection will b shared by many machine, speed may become a issue...

Yes. Attach the box you got from Starbrand to the Uplink port of the router
Attach one of the PCs by cable to the router. (If you brought a wireless router and one or both PCs have wireless cards, you can switch to wireless once the initial set up is done)
Run the setup disk that came with the router to configure it.
Attach the second PC by cable (or turn on wirelss card) and go into My Network Places. In the bar on the left click the link for "Set up a small or home network" (or the Wireless Network Wizard)
Both computers should now have Internet access

Yes, u need a router to build a LAN then u can connect the router to the internet using a modem.

these days u can buy a router and a modem as one device

The easiest setup is to have one computer attached to the router which would be connected to the internet. Have the other computer attached to a wireless reciever to receive the signal from the router
