Sportscenter said that he insulted his family and told him to (expletive) off. They hired a lipreader
Ive also heard that he called him a terorist, but the player denies that

Grow up: a big "no no" to talk about somebody's mama?
These are professionals. Think about it: professionals paid millions who are involved in a game that produces millions upon millions in revenues. This is a business, and a big one. Even if you didn't think they had a responsbility to serve as some kind of hero for kids to look up to (and why should anyone be saddled with that, anyway?), he certainly had a responsibility to his team, no?
Zizou acted like an idiot. (No excuses for Matterazzi, either, btw)

Zidane said that it was a harsh insult to his mother and sister. See my sources.

Gave him a killer wedgie, and he couldn't pull it out with all those people watching on the TV, and it gave him a nasty rash, not to mention the some horrible skid marks.
Geez, I'm feeling sore just thinking about it!

I think it was more what he said to him. But that's no excuse for the head butt. There are professional athletes in all sports that do stupid things like that. There are enough in American sports.
