Replace the water pump. The leak is either from the pump body to motor block gasket, which requires you remove the pump to access it, or the shaft seal is leaking, which requires water pump replacement. Since your going to remove the old one anyway, just put a new one on and save future headaches.

If money and time is a issue, try this:

Take one can of ground black pepper from the grocery store, and while the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap, and dump the whole can in.

Start the car, and run it for about 10 to 15 minutes at full operating temp.

The pepper will travel through the flow, and be attracted to the leak where the water is exiting the pressurized system. It will collect there, and slowly expand to seal the leak.

I have used this many times on radiator leaks, but not on water pumps. It always worked, and for a buck, it could be worth a try.

Good Luck.

The only way is to replace the pump - no chemicals will stop the leak from the pump.

Go to a Ford dealer and buy a water pump. Then if you are qualified replace the pump. If you can't do that then leave it at the Ford dealer & have them replace it.

HEAD GASKET the foremost to this answer is "replaced heads" i have considered this mistake some circumstances (exceptionally by technique of fellows who're used to construction Chevy's) SB Chevy head gaskets are fool info yet on a small block Ford one gasket is going "ceremony aspect up" and the different is going "up aspect down" in case you position the gaskets on with an similar aspects up a minimum of one in each and every of them will be blockading the rear water passages. TIP once you replace the top gaskets make positive the rear water jacket holes line up. P.S. make positive your heads have hardened valve seats so so that you could use unleaded gasoline (because you should take the heads off any way)

If it's just the gasket replace it with new or gasket sealer

If it's the little hole on the bottom side of the pump than your inside seal is bad, replace the pump.

I would go with the first answer. The pump is designed to leak when it is going bad. That is how you know it is time to replace it.
