why do people get abortions if they dont want their child i mean think about all the children we have killed just because people dont want their babys ,at least they could put them as adoption.i mean come on! stupid people . could u please tel me why people do that?! thank u!

Ok, I could never see myself doing that. But there are many reasons why someone would abort instead of having a child. These are but a few:

1. Rape
2. Incest
3. Health of the mother
4. Health of the infant
5. STD (such as AIDS)

Keep in mind that many women are also not aware of their options. It doesn't make them stupid, it just makes them uninformed. Sure, there are plenty of folks out there who are irresponsible, and getting rid of the baby is just the easy way out. But there are also some women, especially teens, who are forced into getting abortions because they feel they have no other alternatives. And they live to regret it.

Perhaps instead of throwing out judgements, you should work to help education girls/women in your age group so they know what their options are. That's the only way the problem will ever be solved.

I think it's because the ones that decide to keep their babies get judged for having a child out of wedlock. I have 2 kids and I CONSTANTLY see people on here judging teen moms. Maybe a lot of girls don't want to go through that. I have no reason to be judged. I'm not using welfare, never have. I'm marrying my fiance (children's father) next year. I don't agree with abortion and that is why I have my 2 beautiful daughters. Then there are the others that are just too selfish to have a child. They feel that a child is an inconvenience to them so they just go out and murder it. Some sick people we have in this world.

Here are a few reasons: rape, incest, addicted mothers delivering addicted and affected babies, genetic defects, medical issues that could cause the death of the mother, taking all precautions and still ended up pregnant.

I have a genetic disease in my family that will cause spontaneous death/abortions up to the end of pregnancy. Pregnancy and delivery is not cut and dry. You can get many life threatening illnesses due to pregnancy - high blood pressure, diabetes, toxemia to name a few.

And if the baby was born with the disease it would not likely live past 2 and the child would have severe medical issues. Who would adopt a baby like that? Would you?

How about a crack baby that is going through withdrawals? I work with a man that fosters addiction babies, G-d love him. He has told me how the poor babies would cry for day and shake and have seizures until the drugs were out of their system. Do you know someone who would adopt this baby?

How about a fetal alcohol baby? These babies have chronic lung problems, decrease IQ and socialization issues.

How about a downs syndrome baby? If the case is mild then it's not to bad, mild retardation and specific facial features. But this could be a life time event, not just to adulthood.

There are many children in foster care needing adoptive families, especially special needs kids, and there they stay.

This is each woman and hopefully the father's decision.

you are hitting on a very touchy subject, and don't be surprised if you get a lot of comments on this one. but i agree with you. i don't believe in abortion. and i am not just saying that out of ignorance. no, i have not been in many women's positions, but i do believe that regardless of the situation you are in, you are in no way qualified to make the decision take the life of a child/baby/fetus (whichever you want to call it). God has given the gift of a child, wheather you want to take care of it or not. and i am not being a religious bitty about this either. but a child is a gift, and i know that may be hard, okay, it is terribly hard to say that a baby is a gift if a woman has been raped or molested, but that child did not ask for that to happen and they are the one being punished. i agree that there are many other options out there besides abortion. unfortunatly i do not believe women give it enough thought before going through with such a life changing event. there is an abortion clinic that i know of that will preform abortions for free. but here is the deal, the woman has to come in and have a consultation and then has to name the baby (whichever sex she prefers) and then write a letter to that baby. and then come up for a follow up consulation with the letter and the name and then they will set up the appoinment for the abortion. nearly 80% of the women who iniatially come into the clinic end up not getting an abortion. i believe this is because they are forced to think of what they are doing and the consequenses of their actions and of what they are doing to their child. i think more women would make the right decision if they are informed better and have better information readily available. and please don't criticize me b/c you don't think i haven't been there. i have been there. i was a teenager, pregnant and unwed. i didn't want a child and i didn't want to have that responsibility or to go through any of that. but i never in thought for a second of aborting her. and now she is a beautiful 3 year old who i cherish with all my heart. i made the right decision and for it, i am blessed.

Do you know how many babies are put up for adoption and never get adopted? People who adopt usually have certain expectations. This one doesn't have the right hair or eye color. A lot of people want it to seem like it is their own biological child. What about the ones that end up with special needs? Imagine the child you gave up and the possibility that it didn't go to a good home. Could you live with yourself knowing that he/she could be being abused? Every woman has the right to choose and its people like you that make it hard for them to.

why do people put their babies up for adoption that is stupid some children just sit in the system all of their lives and know that no one cares about them and even the woman that gave birth to them did not care there are already enough children in the foster care and orphanage system why would you add another for everyone else to have to pay for and for them to suffer for the rest of their lives i understand there are people who want children but cannot have them well guess what they have plenty of children to choose from now they need to stop being selfish and only wanting a newborn child that is what is stupid and until you are in a situation where you have to choose you should stop judging people!

they do not care about the life of the child. They do not want the child to come and look for them later or it could be that they just don't want the responsibility of taking care of the child. There are many reasons why but unless you know some one or you have done it you will never know.

Just to point out one little bit of new science. We are no seeing that not only are we in a lot of ways attracted to a specific mate for gentetic reasons but also that sperm is attracted to a specific tye of egg depending on hormones released by the woman. In short, this means that life can be determined before conception, that means that every period you have is a dead baby

In my most one sided opinion its because they are murderers!!!!
They do it because they want to go straight to Satan and they are selfish and Killers!
I don't like stupid killers, but I'm not allowed to kill them, Catch 22 isn't it?
I actually HAD a friend who left for college, didn't know she was pregnant(supposedly) and after giving birth in a restroom put a tiny perfect baby girl in a trash bag and into a dumpster. The father came forward soon after and she served 2 yrs state facility. The baby died, and it should have been her.
I have lost two yes TWO babies, how dare them!!!!!

Because they are not thinking when they have unprotected sex so they feel an abortion is an answer which to me it is killing a living being. Cells are living cells and when you abort those cells to me it is killing an innocent child. I think that should be a form of child abuse and people who abort should go to jail for it. JMO
