the sciatic nerve runs from your lower back down your buttocks along hip joint and down back of leg to your toes

compression anywhere in that pathway can cause problems
a proper diagnoses of where it is impinged would help treatment
as physical therapy/ chiropractic etc might relieve some of the pressure
ice your lower back and buttock at night
in the morning warm them up an dget moving as soon as you can
try sitting on a tennis balll and rolling it around until you find pain spots - squeeze down and try and release the trigger point - you can do this on your lower back as well while lying down

try acupuncture
