u can if u do it like a LPP ( low pressure pimp system) run the grinder 2" pvc into a smaller tank, about 600 gals, and then connect the smaller tank to the standard tank.......this allows the solids to settle and the liquids to spill over to the standard tank........sorry if to graphic.

if u run it straight to the standard tank the bio system will not work and u will get the break down u need in solids......

Ok, if your going to "grind" vegetables, or table scraps, then your asking for trouble!

The vegetables will only float. They will be added to the grease and scum, and then your septic tank will have to be pumped out sooner.

Grease and scum, (all floatables, grease, vegetables, rubber products, food particles), will build up and eventually get under your trap for the leach field... (I know of cases where they had grease depts of 4 to 8 feet! Of course, thier tanks were a lot deeper than yours probably is, and a large apartment building).

Its not good to have a food grinder hooked to a septic tank...

Oh, another thing, if you put fats and grease in the pcv pipe, you WILL have a clog eventually!
Grease and vegetables will harden like a rock! In fact, it gets harder than some concrete!!! Sheesh, we had terrible times busting this stuff up...
Plus, you probably wont have enough "force" to push the food particles all the way down the pipe... You will need a 2.0 feet per second flow rate, to ensure that nothing settles out. So, a large volume of water must follow the "food particles" that are ground up.

Your slope, or incline for the pipe should be 1/4 inch for every ten feet of drop, to ensure that it gets there...
