And, do you know if "Shopgirl" by Steve Martin is an appropriate book to read, like mature enough for 11th grade, but appropriate enough to read for school?

Anyways please recomend a good book for students entering 11th grade?... I want something interesting, like a cute teen romance novel or something of that sort.

I would think that entering 11th grade, you might want to try something that's a little more substantive than a romance novel. There are some great books out there more in the vein of literature. A Confederacy of Dunces is a great book. So is "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris, although it's quite short.

I can almost promise you'll like this series. Its about a group of teens that live on an island off the coast of New England ( Mass..or Maine) & it was my FAVORITE there are several in the series. I know the series name sounds dumb, but the books aren't-it used to be called something different but the publisher changed it or something. Anyways
The series is called "Making Out" & the author is Katherine Applegate The first one is Zoey Fools Around

Do you want to really mess with your teachers minds? Read "The Once and Future King" by T. H. White (it's about King Arthur and Camelot.). It's the last thing that most teachers would expect any student to willingly read, but, if you're in to Arthurian legend and mythology, then it's phenomenal!

If you like Harry Potter-type books, Eragon and King Fortis the Brave are both great

"Night" by Elie Wiesel, "The Great Gatsby", "The Scarlet Letter". I just finished 11th grade and these books were read in my 11th grade English class. We all loved them.

"Hawksong" by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

Short, cute, romance between two warring races of shapeshifters. Also mature because it deal with issues like revenge and morality. Wonderful.
