vick's vapor rub will help to stop it quickly and take some cold medicine there will be some that are for runny noses it'll say it on the bottle

If you can't stop it right away, at least get the puffs with lotion added. It is softer on your nose and less irritating. Also I have found first aid cream, although a nuisance helps with redness on the nose if used at night.

i stuff tissues in my nose. the best is when you twist up a tissue and stick it in both nostrils so it looks like a ring the bulls wear in cartoons

If it's from allergies an antihistimine will help, like Clariton or Benedryl. You don't need a prescription.
