Because November and December is cold and you have to do something to keep you warm on them cold nights. Also not much on the telly in them months.

We had miners strikes in 1972 so we had ne electricity there was a big birth boom in the summer of that year. In 1962-1963 we had a lot of power cuts due to snow and freezing conditions so also a lot of babies born those years.

I think it's because Aug is the end of Summer...and the parents don't have to wait for there kids to get out of school for the day to have something for them...or delay it tell the weekend...and mine is also in Aug...mine is the 9th...soo I guess it's just dealing with most of the Summer and when they deside to have a baby..and if they want it near like any Haliday or something...but if ya have a different ancer then tell me...because that is just there for the time being until someone comes up with something better :-P

I have the same problem, my daughter, my girlfreind, my mother and my grandmas bithdays are all in august.
Just when i like to go on holiday i cant afford to.
It must be the cold weather in the winter that causes humans to mate in a warm bed, and fire out there off spring 9 months later in the dreaded month of august.

1/12 is statistically a reasonably large probability you know.

Add the so-called Murphy's law to this (which i believe applies very often in everyday life) :if you fear that the birthday of the person is in august, then it will be in august; then you get an almost absolute certainty that the person was born in august.

A lot of cuddling happens in the Winter time. A lot of motion in the Ocean. Leg wrestling, vertical legs, feet to the ceiling kinda thing. Gee nine months later it's August

There are so many birthdays in August because so many people like to cudle in the winter. By the way, you can tell your friends that you just don't have the money to get them as nice a gift as you want to and ou can get them something less nicer. If there your true friends they'll understand.

There is an abundance of birthdays in August, September and October due to the onset of winter the previous year. (If you are old enough to have a mortgage, you will know what I mean)

Here's a hint....buy less expensive gifts.

humans have broken out of most of their territorial behaviour since we fell out of the tree and discovered our opposable thumbs, however we didn't break out of two hardwired behavioural instincts.

1 is the circadian rhythm - timed with the turning of the earth on a day to day basis, 2 is the instinct to hibernate - sexual activity when graphed is highest in winter - there fore most birthdays fall in August/September - September is actually the busiest time for maternity wards!!

In my circle, there's me, my brother, my sister-in-law, three cousins who come to mind immediately, my grandmother, my best friends who are twins, and three former boyfriends (but that was long ago, so no presents for them). All born in August.

I figure I must've been conceived around Thanksgiving. Must've been cold that year.
