If it is only a national thing, why is it named the World Series?

i read about this it was just a marketing sceme back in the day to get people to come they were just basically saying that both leagues AL and NL would come together for this series and they were the best in the world at the time. but now it seems there alot more countries playing baseball but it wasnt that way back then in 1903 i believe well hope that helps your curiousity byes

S.. there is distinct undiscovered expertise in the international that's why MLB has been attempting to boost all international huge.

Maybe, it's because in the U.S., every traditional league (NBA, MLB etc) has the habit of proclaiming the winners as the World Champions. It's a tradition that comes from many decades ago, and that was not changed to maintain the tradition.

Why is it called cricket if you don't hit Crickets? Actually I'm thinking of going into the Cricket section and asking that daily. Thing is I don't think they are the idiots doing this or I proably would.
