If a guy is to wear eyeliner, should he go around the whole eye or just the bottom half?

First of all, if a guy wants to wear eyeliner, I say go for it! Why not? It's 2006 - we should all feel free to express ourselves in whatever way makes us most happy. There are plenty of men who wear makeup, even "manly" men; newscasters, actors, male models, even the president wears makeup! There are also plenty of men who wear obvious makeup such as eyeliner who are amazingly hot, successful and drooled over by women (and other men!) around the world!

As far as how a guy should wear eyeliner, I say any way he wants to! However I think the most sexy look to have when you wear eyeliner as a guy is to keep your head hair short, your facial hair short (a goatee or a little stubble is ok) and to also keep your nails short.

As far as the liner goes, I think dark smoky, sooty black looks best, although a dark smoky grey can be good too, just make sure to avoid any liquid liner or liner with shimmer unless you're going for a really crazy, funky look.

I think it looks best and is easiest applied on the bottom eyelid and into the lower waterline (the area of bare skin that rings your eyes just above your bottom lashes and just below and underneath your upper lashes, never apply eyeliner into the "pink" part of your eye, this is not the waterline), then be sure to blend well with your pinky, a q-tip or a smudging makeup tool or brush. You can also apply it on the top lash line and top waterline (around the whole eye) and have it look great too. Experiment at home first with both methods to see what you prefer and what you think looks best. Then when you're ready to go out you'll feel more confident and will have had time to perfect your technique.

Just remember that when wearing eyeliner, even as a guy, you should use an actual makeup remover to take it off. Don't rub it off with a paper towel or tissue. Any liquid makeup remover should work fine. Just apply some to a couple cotton balls or a cotton pad (no, toilet paper won't work!) and hold it against your closed eye for 20-30 seconds and then gently sweep it off your lid. Much easier to remove your eyeliner this way than to tug or rub it off.

Also remember to pick up an eyeliner sharpener, seems obvious but it's easy to forget. Never use the same sharpener you use to sharpen writing pencils. As far as suggestions for the actual liner go, at the drugstore L’Oreal and Rimmel make good eyeliners, and MAC makes great eyeliners! MAC's "Smolder" Eye Kohl is my favorite black liner, and MAC's "Phone Number" Eye Kohl is a great medium grey.

Depends on the look you are going for, it also depends on what you do on a daily basis.
If your every day wear and work and or school is casual and you are going for a daytime look then just lightly line the lower lash or you can do the upper but I would tell you to keep it quite close to the lash line.
If you are in an enviroment that screams "INDIVIDUALISM PRACTICED HERE DAILY" (hahahaha). Then you can pull out all stops, smoke that eyeliner out, heck wear eyeshadow and mascara too.
This also is doable for club/concert wear or if you are the artsy type and hang in that flow of things.
But in the end whatever you are comfortable wearing.
Oh and these people who say men should not wear makeup but will tell you who their favorite male actor or model is, oh sure like they don't wear any of that stuff.

It really depends on the look you want . You can apply it lightly around the whole eye for a natural look or you can take it on the darker side and apply it just on the bottom half.

the only guys that can pull that off r in bands and johnny depp. (sooo hot!!!) if u r one of those then fine, if not dont. (and a real band not a lame one--example: the killers...they can wear eyeliner)
