Use a good cleanser and acne treatment gel. My son is using the Mary Kay products and working pretty well for him. He is using the Velocity cleanser and acne treatment gel.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

There is a new product that is just hitting the market that REALLY works. It is about the size of a larger cell phone. It uses directed energy to zap the zit in the beginning stages and it is GONE in 24 hours. It works by killing the bacteria that causes the zit. It is called a ZENO. Check with your DR. Some of them have them now. They will soon be in Walgreen drugstores and I am pretty sure you can buy them on line.
They are a little pricey at about 1$150.00 US but they really do work.

I tried using Proactiv and it didn't work. My best advice would be to see a dermatologist because everyones skin is different and certain things work well on others. Also changing from product to product and method to method won't help out either. It will stress out your skin only causing more breakouts. Also wash your pillow cases at least twice a week. Gross bacteria stays on your pillows when you sleep.

i went to the doctors because every acne product in the store didn't work for me but anyways he gave me a rx called clindamycin phosphate topical solution. It isn't a pill or anything but you can use it every day to prevent breakouts and/or use it on your pimple(s) and they go away in a day or two. With my insurance the prescription only cost $5 for a big bottle that has lasted me well over a year (i guess it would depend on how often you used it) but you have to consider your co-pay also. good luck!
