I live with my best friend and we've been really close, but 3 months ago i got a boyfriend and now she ignores me and is distancing herself from me and telling me it's my fault even though i'm home everynight to hang out with her except for one weekend night when i'm with my bf at his place. i always ask her to hang out but she won't and then she complains that i'm never around and how she lost me. what do i do? i don't want to lose either one of them

Green-eyed monster of jealousy. Your best friend has a bad case of it. Truly being a best friend, she would be happy for you to be happy. Talk to her about how she feels. Tell her how it makes you feel by the way she's acting. Consider how you would feel if the situation was reversed, your reaction to her having a boyfriend. I did, and I still have my best friend.

OMG- my best friend just went through a similar situation with her best friend and roommate and do you know what happened?... she lost both her friend and the boyfriend. Seriously, her friends stopped talking to her saying she was acting funny towards her because she had a man and all and so eventually, my friend got her own place and what happened then, her and the boyfriend started having problems and they are no longer together. I look at it like this, if that's your best friend she should be happy you met someone that you enjoy being with and she shouldn't be jealous or selfish acting towards you. Your friends are suppose to be your friend no matter what happens in your life. Friends will always be friends, boyfriends come and go.But also, you wouldn't know if he is the right one unless you stick it out long enough. It is a tough situation that you may end up getting hurt from in the end. Trust your instincts, trust your heart. Things will either get better for you or get worse. But i will say this as long as you live there with her, it will only get worse over time because she will always feel abandoned with anybody you bring home!!!

She's jealous and selfish. What to do? Get another room mate who is not so needy.
