My husband and I currently live in CA, but are planning to move to Dallas in the near future. Looking for a nice town to buy a house and raise our baby in. I've been looking into Denton & McKinney. Any suggestions?

Denton and Mckinney are both okay, but I'd suggest Mckinney for raising the kid, with all new construction and convenient businesses, but Denton is off of 35, which will have a bit more traffic jams. The company I work for develops land and communities for homes, golf courses, etc in Mckinney and Denton. I am a mortgage loan officer here in Frisco, which is another choice between Mckinney and Denton, maybe a good option.

My mom is a long-time realtor in Dallas who specializes in Mckinney and other North Dallas, Plano areas. You can check out her website at ellengomez.com. She's awesome, trust me.

ellengomez.com, Call her and she'll give you some info regardless of whether you use her as a your realtor. She has all kinds of info on schools, home values, shopping, etc.

Good luck with your search!

The "Nice" suburbs are in the northern sector of the Dallas part of the metroplex. Low crime, newer and nicer homes, great schools (except for Plano), are pretty common--these are the suburbs where the professional people tend to live.

Look into: Plano, Allen, Wylie, Frisco, (parts of) McKinney, Flower Mound, Lewisville, and The Colony. Lots of development going on in all of these areas, so everything is pretty new. On the downside, ots of development going on in all of these areas, so things are getting pretty crowded.

Good Luck...y'all!

It would help to know where you will be working. I presume you would like to live close to where you work. It would also benefit you to travel to the area and explore it yourself to see what places are like.

Why did you choose Denton and McKinney? For the small town feel?

Plano or Frisco

Depends on where you are to work as well.

McKinney gets further out and the taxes are extremely high.

I would not move to Denton, unless you just want to be far from everything nice.

FORNEY!

I use to live in Dallas, but I wanted better schools and neighborhoods for my children. We moved out here and I LOVE IT! They're building new neighborhoods and schools. It's like 25-30 min from Dallas. Good Luck.
Frisco is good too.
