I believe that people within states quite realize that they would, in fact, 'starve' without our tax dollars (Yes, I am a liberal too). However, throughout history, cutting off a section of a country just because you don't agree with them has always been bad news.
Example: The Civil War. The South didn't agree with the North, therefore they decided to become their own country. Hence a huge, ungainly war against everyone's own family members.
I would suggest that instead of 'cutting them off', we find ways to make our own views into something they cannot only disagree with, but something that would benefit our country.

If you break it down by county, you’d quickly see how wrong you are.

You blue state types are almost exclusively non-producers. You have a lot of entertainers, stockbrokers, environmentalists, activists, artists, lawyers, and other such non-producers. And, of course, a handful of ultra-rich white-guilt types.

Red states type (again, by county) are producers: construction workers, small business owners, soldiers, cops, firemen, truck drivers, builders, and so on.

If we could somehow separate the country and split it along red and blue lines, the blue country would quickly be starved, overrun by foreign hordes, and sitting there shivering in their mansions and condos because none of them knows how to operate the generators, and even if they did they wouldn’t have any oil to run the generators. Soon, the blue staters who somehow survived being starved, frozen, and enslaved to a foreign dictator would demand access to red country.

And when you demanded access to red country, we’d shoot you. The blue staters who survived you would then beg to come across to red country.

And we’d let you. After all, we are compassionate.

A) If they are idiots, they probably have no clue.

B) If I vote red, but live in a blue state, will I starve?

C) Red state idiots probably depend on themselves, not the STATE, for their sustenance. So you won't be able to cut them off.

ahahahahahahaha ha...ha......ha, wait you ARE kidding aren't you?!? well asuming you know that you know that the most tax dollars came from...
New York and California provide about twice the national average for taxes from a state, but they GET around 9 times the national average for tax allocation. Without "Red States" you bluebellies would have the poor starve and die, the rich not get their public parks, the middle class would not get tax breaks. which would mean death for the largest blue state industry ENTERTAINMENT, what a pathetic economic staple.

I'm pretty sure the red states produce the overwhelming majority of the food in this country... Maybe the "blue state idiots" need to remember that! LOL :P

Blue state tax dollars are specifically earmarked for erectile dysfunction research. That's why it's called the "little blue pill". Guess the government figured blue staters needed that more. So, you'd only be hurting yourself. Cheers.

Well, luckily, we are ALL part of the United States, and no one can be "cut off." We all pay in, and we all get the benefits.

Being so divisive (red vs. blue states) will get people nowhere. We are all in this together.

You haven't heard what been going on in Mississippi. They were trying to cut taxs and it got vetoed by a Republican Governor. We also would also cut of all food and cotton supplies to your blue states.
