I built a small log cabin with my friend when we were 14.
We chopped down birch trees in a woods by my house with axes and notched them like lincoln logs and drove footlong nails into them. It was sweet, but it took a year to do. We worked on it through the entire year.

No, just make sure it's worthy of a 14 year old.
Maybe some machine guns, and reinforced concrete?
