It says I'm missing system32 file.

try to operate in safe mode or follow the steps carefully this may solve ur problem
1) Note the filename and filepath(if available)
2) goto some win2000 system pc and browse for that file
3) if u find it then copy the file to floppy
4) boot the system using any of the bootable cd
5) It definitely boots with the help of the cd and a dos prompt will be awaiting for u(in win 98)
6) Now keep ur floppy and get that file copied to that destination folder and if it asks for the replacement replace it.
7) Now restart ur computer by removing cd and floppy

I have recovered my pc once in the above manner and it worked. I hope it would work

reinstall the computer,
as for the disk perhaps u can get a loan of the disk from a freind,

after all it is the windows product key that u register not the actual cd.

i think u may also be able to download windows from the microsoft website and save it to a disk then use on r own comp

You will either need the 2000 cd, which isnt in production anymore, or i would highly reccomend upgrading to Win XP Home or Pro

now is agood opportunity to dump windows and move to Linux. Fedora or Suse should work for you nicely.
