Check your DirectX using DXDIAG, and make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed
ran dxdiag from start>Run and lowered your accereration in the sound tab
and besure that your windows media player has last updates

Update your current Windows Media Player to version 10 or else check your DirectX using DXDIAG, and make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed.
