My mouth swells up real bad or shall i say my lips

Yes you can....just don't take medicine like vicoprofen that has codeine and ibuprophen in it. if you are ever curious, ask the pharmacy prior to taking something.

Yes you can. Codeine is in a different family from Ibuprophen. I have the exact same allergy also. My lower face swells up to the size of a balloon if I take it. Asprin also does the same thing also. The only OTC meds that I can take is Tylenol. Avoid advil, motrin, excedrin (the tension headache one is fine though, it only has tylenol and caffeine in it), Aleve (it is in the same family as Ibuprophen), asprin (it is in the same family also). It really sucks because there are so many things that an anti-inflammitory can help with. I feel your aggrivation.

Yes, codeine is an opioid µ receptor antagonist, while ibuprofen is a derivative of aspirin.

Never take ibuprofen!
Codeine is a narcotic & can be addictive. You could try alleve. Why do you need to take pain medicine?
