MY HUSBAND AND I LIVE IN NEW YORK (LONG ISLAND) AND AS MOST PEOPLE KNOW IT IS GETTING VERY EXPENSIVE TO LIVE HERE! WE ARE CONSIDERING MOVING TO LAS VEGAS AND WE ARE CURIOUS TO KNOW WHAT THE COST OF LIVING IS IN LAS VEGAS VS NEW YORK? IS IT A GOOD PLACE TO RAISE CHILDREN? ARE THE SCHOOLS GOOD? I lived in Vegas for a few years, and would love to move back. It is a great place to live, and surprisingly, a great place for families. I would suggest living on the west side, or the southeast side, they are teh better neighborhoods. i have never lived in NY, but from what I hear about the cost of living, you will love what you get in Vegas. And everything there is brand new, new apartments, new houses, new offices, new stores, it's a nice change from the old stuff. But there is planty of culture there as well, every ethnic group, some of the best people I've met in my life, and then there's that big touristy area for when you get bored. Although as a local you try to avoid the strip at all costs, especially on the weekends. Good Luck!

north l.v. is the best way to go. it's cheap, and has everythign that one could possibly want.
