I expect them to be trustworthy, be there in my corner and not to smile in my face and talk about me behind my back. I don't want a friend that will tell the world what I tell them or try to start stuff because they can. Without respect and loyalty between my friends and I then I don't need them in my life.

absolutely nothing! The best way to have good friends and keep them forever is to give everything you have without expecting anything back. Besides if you don't expect anything and you suddenly get something it will make you reaaaaaally happy. If you expect something and you don't get it it will dissapoint you. so what do you think you should expect?
