I am stretching my ears at different times due to the fact that one ear is less receptive to being strecthed, but my left ear is at an 8, ready for a 6, and the right is still at a 10. I researched and got conflicting ideas on how long to keep a 10 in....so I don't know when its ok to pop in the 8s.

I know everyone says listen to your body, but its going to hurt no matter what and I jsut want to know how long I need to give it to heal, especially because its less receptive.

I took my time with stretching my ears, particularly since my left ear had been stretched already while my right hasn't even been pierced yet, so my left had ample time to heal while I kinda rushed with my right. I find that ears are able to heal after just a little over a week (that's what happened when I went from 6 to 4), but if you want to be safe, wait a whole month.

...Unless you're trying to stretch the cartilage or something; that would take forever to heal.

I, in my opinion, used the taper that feels like a fat sewing needle. i began at a 14, moved to a 10 in like 3 hours, moved to an 8 eyelet after 2 days, then a 6 yet another few days later. Thats how i did it, yet i wouldnt recommend it. my ear replaced into sore for weeks, it had a tiny little bit of pus that ought to opt to be wiped clean each few hours... it purely wasnt nicely worth dashing. And about the taper/plug, i dont see why not. it you could shove the taper in, why not a plug an same length? My 2 cents.

i went from a 12 to a 6 in 3 months. i had the same problem as you. if the ear is really resisting the next size and you really want it, just go for it.. try flesh tunnels that dont flare at the ends, or a spike/talon shaped strecher
