DETROIT LIONS. No doubt about it and here's why. First of all, the Lions organization went through and completely redid the whole staff from the head coach on down. Now they are being whipped into shape by the likes of the former defensive line coach Rod Marinelli and have the 'greatest show on turf' offensive coordinator Mike Martz under their wing. That alone should bring in 2 or 3 extra wins. They have 3 outstanding 1st round wide receivers that will have a break out season this year. Roy Williams has already shown his skills and big playmaking and without an injury, he will dominate this year. Charles Rogers will finally grow up and come out and really have a great season, without injury. And finally Mike Williams will adjust his attitude and use his size to grab balls to make huge plays this year. Lions also have breakout wide receiver Scottie Vines that could be a great player. New addition Corey Bradford may be an ultimate pickup in the offseason as well. A healthy Kevin Jones will break out for his 3rd season with a 1500 yard plus season, With the help of lead blocking , far underrated and skullrattling fullback, Corey Schlesinger....complimented by new 3rd round drafted RB Brian Calhoun who will also backup return specialist Eddie Drummond on special teams who will get his fair share of return TDs again this year. The defense will be tough as nails, with the addition of rookie hard hitter Ernie Sims. The D line is one of the best in the league, Dre Bly is a probowl corner, and a healthy Fernando Bryant could be a probowler as well this year, and 2nd round draft safety Daniel Bullocks will provide plenty of young talent alongside hard as hell hitting safety Kenoy Kennedy. Boss Bailey and Teddy Lehman will fill up the holes and bash people as the other starting linebackers. Jon Kitna is a proven veteran who will hit this all star trio of receivers and back up Dan Orlovsky is just waiting to become a starter for a team. So the sky is the limit for the LIONS this year. Just wait and see!!!

My bold predictions... 1. The cowboys only win 6 games this year. They have no chemistry and need to rebuild their team from the core. Romo and Witten are the only offensive players who have ANY chemistry whatsoever. Getting rid of T.O was good for the long run, but it's going to hurt them next season. 2. The texans make the playoffs. They have a great offense and special teams. If the defense can be decent, they are a team that looks a LOT like the colts. I think they will have a 10-6 record. 3. The Steelers don't make the playoffs. They will go 9-7 and the Ravens will win the division with a 13-3 record. 4. The Saints win the nfc south. Atlanta wins the wildcard easily with a 11-5 record. But Carolina drops to 8-8 and third in the division. Brees will be the second QB in the league behind Manning. He will have about 4200 yards and 32 tds. Matt Ryan manages barely 4000 yards and 25 tds. The Buccaneers have a 4 win record and drop to the bottom of the division.

Watch out for the Lions. The team to beat in their division is going to be the Bears, but if they can split with them and take care of the Vikings and Packers, they have a chance at the playoffs. The reason to watch them is two fold. One is a loaded offense. With the acquisition of a real QB in Jon Kitna, and three first round WRs, and Mad Mike up in the box, the Lions could put up some serious points. Two is schedule. Though they do play some tough games (Pats, Seahawks, Bears twice), they will have some breaks (Niners, Jets, Bills, Pack twice).

My boyfriend says the Redskins because:
"They have the most talented wide receiving core in the whole entire NFC- David Patten, Antwaan Randle El, Santana Moss, Brandon Lloyd, Chris Cooley. They are the most under-rated receivers and halfbacks in the NFC.
Clinton Portis is the best runningback in the NFC, and the most under-rated. He has put up better numbers being a Redskin than a Bronco. We almost beat Seattle. Everybody is hyping up the Giants just because Arrington- he's not going to make it through a whole season.
We have the best secondary in the whole NFL- Sean Taylor (he'll rip your head off), Adam Archuleta, Shawn Springs, just to name a few. Let's not forgert about Marcus Washington. He went to the Pro Bowl in 2005, plus came from the Colts. Santana Moss went to the Pro Bowl this year.
Joe Gibbs is the best and smartest coach in the NFL. And he always has a good runningback and wide receivers.
For you COWGIRL fans, T.O. is gonna be petrified to come through the middle and get hit by Adam Archuleta and Sean Taylor."
Can ya tell he's a Redskins fan?!
Now for my answer:
The Raiders, 'cause that's MY team. We FINALLY have a good coach - let's keep our fingers crossed. We've got Randy, we've got Warren (let's hope he's loses some weight so he can actually MOVE on the field), Crockett, Asomugha.
GO RAIDAHS.

My guess would be the San Diego Chargers, who, I know, have not been cellar-dwellers. But, I don't think most people are expecting QB Phillip Rivers to be great out of the blocks. I think he may very well be. He had a couple of years to watch and learn from Drew Breese and the coaching staff when, if you remember, it was thought he would start as a rookie. I believe Rivers is a better QB than Breese (who is pretty good) and will be the talk of the early season. I would think anyone who followed NC State when Rivers played there shares my conviction.

The Oakland Raiders. After a third consecutive losing season, Norv Turner was fired and former Raiders head coach Art Shell, frequently regarded as one of the most prolific offensive linemen in NFL history, who also won two Super Bowls and went to multiple Pro Bowls as a member of the Raiders, was named Head Coach in February 2006. Back during the 1989 season, Al Davis fired Mike Shanahan and replaced him with Shell who then became the first African-American head coach of the modern NFL era. Since firing Shell in 1994 - and after falling out with five replacements on professional, personal and business levels - Davis had said numerous times that he had regretted the decision.

The lions.
It is farily obvious. They have a knew head coach but despite that They also picked up The offensive coordinator Mike Martz and The qb McCown, who should have a breakout season and so will kevin jones. Eddie Drummond and boss bailey are still on the boat. Mike williams will start to get used to being on the team, and if roy williams doesnt get injured he should have a great season.

well i see a couple people here agree with me, i also think the packers will make a comeback. the "experts" on espn ranked them very low in every category on their "ultimate depth chart" thing. i think people forgot how beat up their offense was last year. how many teams had to resort to their 5th string running back??? favre will actually have more td passes than ints this year and will be much more successful. if they can beat the bears, they'll win the division, but i dont expect them to get passed the 2nd round of playoffs.

Arizona will suprise a lot of people, now with a running back (E. James), a rejuvinated Kurt Warner, a great corps of receivers in Boldin and Fitzgerald, and of course upstart Matt Leinart if Warner can't find a rythm in Arizona.
Watch for the Cardinals in the NFC West.

In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs. A lot of people think Miami, but that's an obvious answer and I happen to disagree with it.
In the NFC, I'd say Arizona, but people thought that last year too.
