This is kind of a dumb fear but, do you know those dreams where you try to scream and can't? I had a dream that I was showering, and something freaky happened I forgot, and the water shut off. For some reason in my dream I tried to scream, nothing happened, and I woke up and sat up immediatley, Now I still shower, but I just get kind of freaked out if something unexpected happens like, someone using a sink the water gets colder and the pressure drops, I know it's stupid. But I need help please.

If you want to get over a fear like that by yourself, I think the only answer is "repetition." The more you take showers and realize that nothing is going to happen, the faster you will get over your fear. I have a stupid fear of escalators, and I have been trying to conquer that. So now when I have a chance to ride an escalator, I do!

No fear is stupid... You can try to put a radio in the bathroom, across the room from the tub, and play music that helps you calm down. With the calming music playing from the beginning, maybe the unexpected things that happen when your in the shower would not freak you out, since you will be relaxed. Also. tell whoever it is that uses water when your in the shower that, that is just rude... they know you are in the shower and that the water turns cold and the pressure goes down. Unless it is an emergency, no one else should use the water until the shower person is done.

I think that now every time you get in the shower, your mind is sooo preoccupied on that dream you had that your brain is just kind of 'looking' and expecting something bad to happen. I would take the cd player or radio in the bathroom and listen to your favorite music while you're showering. Something to just kind of try to take your mind off of the dream. If you're more focused on singing the song, maybe you'll be less focused on that dream you had.

It's no bad to get freaked over a dream. A way to conquer your shower anxiety is to try a clear shower curtain so that if "something" go after you, you would be able to see it coming. Also, you could take your phone in the bathroom with you and if something gets after you call 9-1-1. You could also take matters in your own hands by putting a wood baseball bat near your shower and if somethin gets after you, defend yourself! Ifr this is too crazy for you, sleep in your shower one night and then, afterwards you won't be scared. good luck with your shower phobia...

Just deal with your fear by facing it. It does sound kind of weird though. I was adraid of heights but figured it was dumb so I climbed a rock that seemed pretty high and jumped in the sea from it. As soon as you face your fear you stop being afraid.
