My ex-girlfriend and I are over, for about 2 years, and I just moved to Hawaii. I still want to know if we can be friends, but long-distance. What shall I do?

just tell her plainly you want to be friends with her still but be nice about it and let her think but give her a little space to think about it also and you may earn her respect.

usually not a good idea... acquaintance maybe because there may not be any more hard feelings..but keeping constant contact can lead to problems.. esp when there's a new girlfriend in the picture. assuming the ex is a good, nice, 'great' person and one u can lean on, etc, it's inevitable that the feelings won't completely go away or may even come back.... if the ex was Mean however, it's much easier to stay away. just knowing the ex is doing well and occasion "hello" shouldn't be too much of a problem, but if she decides she wants no contact, don't take it personally and move on.

Don't be friends with your ex.
I know it sounds cold, but it's just way too much work. You'll realize that new girlfriends don't appreciate you still being in touch with your old girlfriends. She may be a great girl, but it will be harder for both of you in the long run. Let her go. Move on.

Why do you want to keep in touch? are you not over her yet? Sometimes, as much as it hurts its better to let go. if things come around again maybe its meant to be.
