The fuel pump is in the gas tank. It's a bit of a pain in the #$# to drop the tank with out a lift, but it can be done. After you have the tank down, there's a large plastic "nut" that holds the whole assembly in the tank - you can use a large strap wrench to loosen it. Or, if your careful, a standard screwdriver and a hammer also works --- tapping on it in the loosening direction. The pump may have to be replaced as an entire unit, but most Chevy's have just the pump itself available. Once you get the sending unit assembly out of the tank, you'll see what I mean. The pump is located on the bottom of the sending unit assembly. Good luck

I believe it is in the fuel tank and you have to drop the tank. Not a fun job with out a lift
