I am completely on your side. I work for a branch of the government and I see people taking from the system and most of the time never paid into it. I DO believe in disability, but not for drugs or alcohol. This is a big reason why our social security is in jeopardy.

I think there is a limit to the amount of time a person can draw disability for being an alcoholic and I think they have to seek some kind of rehabilitation during that time. It may differ from state to state, but I'm pretty sure this is correct.

It is stupid. But why are you blaming just liberals. This has been a problem for many many years and it isnt always liberals running the country. In fact we are in a republican way right now. Your atitude is simply to Black and white. Nothing changes because people pick sides not follow what is right.

I have had a few employees I fired for smoking pot on lunch break and one is now on SSI for mental stress. I'd like to put my foot up his rear cause I see him out riding Harley's and partying. Hell, I have a handicapped daughter and I can't even get health care for her. Go figure ! Plus I am a Democrat w/ a small business so I really get scre*ed on things.

I'm sure he will only get disability for a limited time. I feel for ya, I grew up in MI, and glad as hell to be away from their politics and their lust for more taxes.

That's what happens when the "professionals" get to classify an alcoholic's problem a "disease".
Then after disease, comes dis-ability.
Then after that comes the ADA
Then after that comes the lawyers
Then after that comes the mere threat of "discrimination" or in violation of his "rights"
