I'm about to go too and I'll prolly do what I did in highschool... just put my purse in my backpack when I have my backpack with me and then carry the purse around when I'm just hanging out with friends and such. Hooray for class 2010 ;)

Look for a back pack/book bag with lots of pockets so you can use them for the things you would carry around in your purse. Take your purse for going off campus, but don't carry both at the same time. It's a hassle and at the college I went to, anyone carrying a purse and back pack at the same time was immediately spotted as a freshman. Also, it'll be easier if you keep stuff you know you'll want/need (lip gloss, tylenol, girl stuff) in both places so you don't have to switch them everytime you switch from back pack to purse. Have fun at college!

Sure if you do not live on campus and you need a wallet with money, credit cards and ids. Carry a purse with you so that in case you want to use the bathroom during a lecture you do not have to take your bag with you as if you are leaving or disrupt the class.

I'm going to college too! I plan on having my purse and book bag with me. That way I can put other stuff I might need in it (like stuff for period time) and always have it with me.

Well if you are going to carry a bookbag around EVERYWHERE then I guess you wouldn't need one. But you still might want to bring one in case you just like hang with your friends or something. You wouldn't want to put your stuff in a book bag and be carrying that.

a purse isn't for class..... unless its big enough to hold your books, which sometimes they can. but leave the purses for going out, and get a bag from old navy or the gap... that should be fine.....

Nobody wants to juggle multiple bags, but you also don't want to have to dig for keys or lip balm in the bottom of a book bag. Add a small to medium size zippered bag of some sort to your book bag or backpack.

yea just don't wear them together...it look so tacky...girls on campus have their bookbag or a tote and then carry a second bag (like a small coach bag for example)...just to carry a cell phone..keys...lip gloss or whatever...it look so stupid together

but just bring a purse with you on campus because you never know when you might go out!!

I am a senior in college. Most girls carry their bookbags and their purses, but some girls just put their wallets in their bookbags.

Good luck in college!
