we have been trying to concive for a while . I just wanted to know about Vitex , I hear its sopposed to help a women ovulate. Is that true?

You take vitex in the second half of your cycle and stop if you are pregnant or get your period. It helps create more even cycles in the luteal phase (2nd half of your cycle). It should not be taken before ovulation.

According to the directions on the bottle it should be taken 2 to 3 times a day for 2 to 3 month and after that 1 capsule a day. Regardless of the phase of your cycle and it should not be taken during pregnancy. Improvement in the lutheal phase - which length is critical to promote successful implantation - was reported in some peer-reviewed scientific journals. I've taken it only for a month and my PMS symptoms almost totally disappeared, not pregnant yet though. :) So it might worth a try.
