Don't let them discourage you from using any medium that you prefer. People who use different mediums don't always realize the work and artistry it takes to create fine details like that.
Try entering art shows or getting your work in galleries. Or go to art school.

No. They said that about painting when photographs came out, and unless we find an artificial way to recreate three dimensional life in miniature forms, I can't imagine how someone could claim that sculpting is dead.
I have taking sculpting classes, so I know how hard it is. If you are looking for alternative venues for sculpting, you might want to try 3d modeling on programs like maya or softimage. While it might only be used these days for cartoons and scientific demonstrations, it might inspire your sculpting in other ways.

nicely it is 8 years later and it has attracted little or no interest. artwork is now a mirrored image of it really is time. per chance continually replaced into. we are in common words 0.5 alive and therefore our artwork suffers an same destiny. custom is beaten with the mundane, the selfish and garbage presented as reality. What ought to we anticipate from this custom yet a mirrored image of that mess. people are literally not fascinated in the complexity of reality, that calls for too a lot dedication and reality for the sought after guy. faith is at present anemic. The simplicity of our author's words were just about drowned out and guy is attempting to shop himself, is it a ask your self why we are suffering this difficulty?. No spirit ,no faith, no route, no artwork nicely worth a rattling.

Yah, well that's life for you. Enjoy what you're doing and forget about having an audience. Some day you'll hook up with someone who likes sculpting, too.

No art will ever die.
By the way, you should check out Richard MacDonalds sculpture. He is the wealthiest sculptor I know living today. He gets huge commissions to make monumental sculptures from all over the world. It sounds like you need to surround yourself with more enlightened people.

in the end, all arts are forms of entertainment.
think about the history of sculpture. in ancient Egypt, Greece, etc, there was no TV. so, sculpture had less competition.
BUT, there is still a need for sculpture, particularly, in the the form of public works (fountains, statues, etc.).

Don't worry about what people say or notice. You're an artist for yourself. Just do your thing, let it evolve as it becomes more interesting and sophisticated .
