I had a sunburn two weeks ago and I'm wondering if you could damage nerves from that. I've had pain ever since and the sunburn is gone

Nerve damage happens during 3rd degree burns.

The most pain is experienced when the nerves are regenerating.

What sort of pain are you experiencing? Did the sunburn blister? Did you treat the burn with anything?

No getting a sunburn won't harm the tattoo however repeated sun exposure will cause the tat to fade alot sooner. Peeling from a sunburn only peels off the top skin, a tattoo is much deeper then that

Depends how bad the sunburn was. I don't think you can 3 degree burns from the sun, but that's the only why to dmg nerve endings.

I would go to the dermatologist have them check it out. They can give you a topical lotion to help repair your skin from sun dmg.

As a very pale woman of Irish heritage, I will say no. I have been burned so severely, so many times, and have never experienced nerve damage from it. Your pain is probably from something else.

You probably have sun poisoning. I got it in Florida on my feet in March and it took three months for the skin color to get back to normal and the feeling to come back completely. You may want to see a dermotologist to be safe. I am pre-disposed to skin problems (pre-cancer) so if you are a pasty white idiot like me and still go in the sun, please see a doctor!!
