ginger biscuits or rich tea were good for me. keep them by your bed, and have one before you get up in the morning. Eat little and often during the day. Always get up slowly, whether it be from your bed or a chair. Relax and try to remember it does go away. good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I'm 7 MONTHS pregnant right now and still get morning sickness throughout the day... some people never get any morning sickness while there are other's (like me of course) who are cursed with it during almost the whole pregnancy. This is my 4th pregnancy and I had the same ordeal with the others.

All the suggestions you have recieved so far are good, but keep in mind that every woman is different, so if they don't work for you then dont be alarmed. Personally, I've found that eating dinner at least 3 hours before you plan to go to sleep will help, this gives the food more time to digest a little, therefore keeping the *Morning* morning sickness to a minimum. Also, don't get straight up when you wake in the morning, lay there for 5 minutes or so, this gives your whole body a chance to "wake up" without sudden movements from the laying position. Try not to eat anything that will lay heavy on your stomach, liquids and small meals throughout the day will help but it's really up to your body & your baby to recommend which ones will work best for you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy & my sympathies on the morning sickness. I had hyperemesis and continued being sick every day throughout the day until I reached about 22 weeks. But DON'T PANIC! Everyone is different and most women feel better around 12-14 weeks and the sickness will stop at some point though you get scared that it won't ever go away!

I agree with the person who wrote that different things help different people. I had no success with ginger. But I did find having a small piece of very dark chocolate would help ward off the nausea sometimes (it had to be at least 70% cocoa - green & blacks was good for me).
Sipping a little bit of not too fizzy ice cold coke helped too, or lemonade.
Try to keep yourself cool - getting overheated makes things worse. Also tiredness - if you feel tired, find a way to have a rest/nap.
Don't stop eating...it sounds crazy and sometimes it's the last thing you want to do but honestly I would find myself throwing up and then literally a minute later would eat a small meal & feel tons better.
I stopped drinking with my meals and instead had sips of water at other times in the day instead.
Vitamin B6 supplements can help - speak to your doctor though.
I also had a prescription for cyclazine when things were really bad, it made me feel a bit spacey and also extremely tired so I would have to go to sleep for an hour or so, but at least whilst I was asleep I wasn't being sick!

The types of food you eat can make a difference too - my usual eating habits changed. I found that fresh cold foods worked better for me and I swear by apples kept in the fridge then sliced up into thin slices...they really helped me.

Finally I bought a tape to listen to (not hypnosis) that I found helpful - you can read about it here:

Good luck anyway, I hope you find something that helps you. It will pass, and it will all be worth it in the end :)

Morning sickness is usually over after the first trimester. Some good tips for relief are:

1.) Eat crackers or toast slowly.
2.) Make transitions in position slowly and as smooth as possible.
3.) At meals, drink only after you have eaten your food, don't take a bite and then take a sip.
4.) Pay attention and see if certain foods or smells set off the nausea and avoid them.
5.) Take your vitamins at night so you don't throw them up.
6.) Understand that every pregnancy is different and what works for some won't work for others. Soon it will all be over and you won't even remember what morning sickness is.

I suffered with morning sickness 24 hours a day until I was 15 weeks pregnant, Everything seemed to make me sick! then it started to wear off. I tried everything suggested! The only thing I could do to help was keep a packet of mints with me. and try to avoid areas (ie chip shops, fish counter, toiletry isle) where the smell made me sick. IT WILL WEAR OFF. Just remember why you are feeling this way and it will all be worth while at the end!

I was one of the lucky ones and didn't suffer with morning sickness. I put this down to the fact that I munched on biscuits of every variety in the early stages of my pregnancy. Not that I really wanted to as I was paranoid about putting weight on.

Suffice to say the urge to fill my face passed and if anything my weight steadied out and I bloomed perfectly.

I would recomend eating little and often, possibly not biscuits or cakes, but try (as previously suggested) crackers, or even bread sticks.

Hopefully it will soon pass for you, but remember everybody is different and you may be one of the very unlucky ones who find that nothing works.

Good luck.

I had hypermesis ( all day morning sickness ) for 19 weeks. They say try ginger, but to be honest i couldnt hold a thing down, not even water and lost a stone. I found ginger ale/ginger beer was fairly good just to quench my thirst. make sure u drink plenty so not to get dehydrated. If it gets really bad, like i was, the doctor can prescribe some pills to try and stop it. I tried these but they made me feel spaced out and really weird and i didnt bother with them again! You will probably just have to try and ride it out im afraid.

My sister had bad morning sickness and she swore by eating a piece of toast before getting out of bed.
other things that helped her were ginger and peppermint (you can either eat, drink or buy these in oil form to smell when you feel bad.
sea sickness bands from boots
She also took B6 but check with your midwife as i think you can only have 75g split up into 3 doses of 25g.
Hope you find something which helps and take care

keeping food in your belly can help with the nausea. Eat small meals throughout the day. Eat a few saltines before you get up in the morning, keep fluids up. There are some motion sickness bracelets you can get at drugstores that will press against a pressure point on your wrist, they sometimes help too. Good luck!

Sometimes the natural remedies don't help - they didn't with me and I tried all of them, ginger, lemons, wrist bands, popsicles, the lot!!!. My sickness was just too bad and some things (like the popsicles) made me worse. The doctor eventually had to prescribe me an anti-emetic. There are anti-sickness tablets which are safe in pregnancy. Stemetil, Cyclizine and Phenergan can all be used. But you will need to see your doctor about this.

You can also try tablets or capsules made of dried ginger root. They did help a little for me but they did give me heartburn.

when i was carring my youngest morning sickness put in hospital 3 times so i can really sympathise with you i found ginger biscuits or anything gingery helped to settle my stomach and plenty of rest so if u need to get up in the morning at 8 set ur alarm for half hour earlier and just sit up slightly in bed have a cuppa (made by the other half if possible) and stay calm till u have to get out of bed it helped me with my first but by 21 weeks it should all be gone and if you are worried talk to your G.P thats what they are there for.
good luck hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well x
