Zidane's headbutt made him even more human, and closer to all fans who watched this match with some anger against a team that became world champion by accumulating referee's mistakes (ask the aussies) and little tricks. Zidane will remain in football history as one of the best players ever, and also one of the most charismatic figures. Materazzi will be forgotten soon I'l afraid (or not, since he may desserve being forgotten, but not forgiven).

The headbutt doesn't make him a bad person - just human with lack of emotional control. ( I personally won't be insulted by calling me a terrorist - who cares)
He is still an awesome football player - just a dirty one. (check out his red card history)
Maradonna got more insults from players than anyone in history and was the most hated player on this planet at one stage - but still he never lost his cool. Whether you liked or hated him he was also one of the best.
People in history are remembered for their actions - they are what make you either famous or infamous.
Pele will remain famous, Zidane will remain infamous.

I love Zidane!
The headbutt didn't change my mind about him...Materazzi got what he deserved...don't go provoke someone and then pretend you're all innocent you idiot! I was rooting for France all the way...they are the REAL winners of that game...
I don't know why, but I'm also starting to like him more and more now....he's so sexy!
Zidane tu est tres magnifique! sorry...I've forgotten my french....

I read that Materazzi guy made some really bad comment that irritated Zidane. I think Zidane played really well though a little
more control on the nerves would have helped.

zizou? legend. he was one of the coolest, calmest players of the past decade. materazzi must hav said something extremely bad to piss the gentle giant that is zidane off. it is still not known wot he sed but the ppl in the pub collectively agreed at that moment that it must hav been about his mum. and the heidbut itself, with a kiss like that he has probably just been handed the key to the whole of glasgow. straight into the chest. 10 points for originality. fake that one mr materazzi! good one zidane.

i do! the headbutt hasn't changed my mind about him one bit. Materazzi insulted his mother and sister and he had to do something about it. I like him more now because he showed that he doesn't take crap from anybody. He's just a human, and he gets angry just like everyone else. It's not like he's perfect, although his soccer skill is pretty close to perfect. He's amazing!
I <3 Zizou!

That Italian player was very breakable by one head butt. He flew over the sky and dropped on the ground. Part of it was malingering!
I still like Zidane.

No this hasn't changed my mind about him. He's still one of the greatest soccer players ever. I mean he could have gone ghetto on Materazzi and beat the shi* out of him and he would still be one of the greatest soccer players ever. I still like him. And as the truth comes out I find myself liking him more and more, because he's not scared of anyone. I mean he's not apologizing to Materazzi he's apologizing to the kids that saw him heatbutt Materazzi. That takes guts, to come out and be like I don't regret what I did because if I did that would mean that Materazzi was right in saying it. By saying that he earned even more of my respect.
