It's real simple. A "thick" girl doesn't have rolls of fat.

They do it because "fat" is a very insulting way to put it. That is what people call over weight people when they want to down grade them. Why would someone want to insult themselves. When I think thick I do think a few extra pounds not obese. Obese is a nasty word too. So same rule applies. Very Overweight may be a little closer to an accurate description. I don't think they do it to be dishonest. They just don't want to use words that make them sound unattractive to other people. Obesity is hard for people to deal with. Not all people eat and sit on their butts to get that way. Some have medical problems or simple genetics. But the world is cruel when a person does not look the way they think they should.

P>S> for everyone who is going to remark that I must be a "fat chick".....untrue... I am 5ft5in and weigh 135lbs. Not a toothpick but not a "fat chick" either. I just having feeling toward my fellow human beings!

Funny how the meaning of words change. I can remember when thick people were mentally slow as in the song thick as a brick. Homosexuals have really messed up the word gay. I have some neighbors with the last name of Gay. It's sorta embarrassing when folks ask me if I live by the Gay's. I wish everyone would stop trying to be so PC.

sure, that bothers me. i'm slightly older than you and nevertheless run in to women like that. often times it may sense like they're keeping that to no longer-so-subtly say to you that you're fat -- you recognize, in the adventure that they are skinny and are thinking themselves fat, what do you imagine they sense about the way you look? yet, those with eating issues extremely see themselves with distinct eyes than others. So some ought to imagine they're easily overweight yet do not imagine somebody else on the same weight is overweight. different circumstances tho i imagine they say that to get reassurance -- they're needy and favor human beings to say "oh, no, you at the instantaneous are not fat, you're perfect." Blech.

I am a "fat" girl as you so kindly put it and I like to call myself many things....heavy, overweight, obese, fat, thick, curvy. extra padding. But in the end...what does it really matter? We are all just people and labels don't mean a thing. There is nothing wrong for you not to like a larger sized woman...everyone has their own thing. But please remember....they are people too with real hearts and real emotions. You may just be passing up the love of your life....who knows? Take care and I hope you have an amazing day! :)

Thick applies to the brain, not the body. Like when guys feel they are entitled to judge women strictly on their appearance, and end up alone or with a brainless twit for a partner.

Main Entry: 1thick
Pronunciation: 'thik
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English thikke, from Old English thicce; akin to Old High German dicki thick, Old Irish tiug
1 a : having or being of relatively great depth or extent from one surface to its opposite b : HEAVILY BUILT

Guess you might be WRONG,and not know it all, girl

People define themselves in ways that is coherent with their image of themselves. Words have their own meaning for every person, based on how they experienced the word before.

I don't mind what people call themselves as long as they do not call others the same. You are only thick if you call yourself it.

Tacky, I hate it when you call people fat you have no reason to be talking down on anyone more less using someone Else's pic to prove a stupid point. At least she had the nerve to show her face!

yes i do hate when fat girls call themselves thick. they know that it is all fat. thick is when yo meat on yo legs don't go all over the place eerytime u move. thick is when yo meat in yo legs r firm and is in shape. but i guess if fat girls want to call themselves thick so they could feel confindate and better let them it is nothing we can really say.
