I got an ipod from my sister, Alicia ( an ipod mini), It was called ALICIA'S IPOD, so I changed it to HANNAH'S IPOD and added 4 songs, after I changed the name, all 359 songs of her's were gone and only my 4 were left. What happened and is there anyway to get them back?

try:
1.changing the name back
2.checking is the memory of the ipod still full or totally empty
3.connecting it with computer and use a recovery program
4.apologies to your sister and promise that you will get all the song back!
that's all or ask an advise from a another ipod user

iPods are set up to work with one owner, on one computer. They don't want people to share songs, etc., so they restrict how you can use an iPod.

For example, if an iPod is full of music, and you connect it to a new computer, iTunes will ask you if you want to overwrite the library... if you say YES, then it will erase all the songs that are NOT on both the iPod and your computer.

If you say NO, it won't erase the songs. You then have to go into iTunes and select EDIT--> PREFERENCES-->IPOD and UNCHECK the thing that says "have itunes automatically manage your music files." This way, you can add and delete songs from your PC, and it won't automatically erase them from your iPod.

Now, it's really too late for you to get the music back... sorry. Unless you hook it back up to your sisters computer and transfer the songs back again.

You might also download a program called YAMIPOD (do a google search). They have an option on there to REPAIR, which is supposed to find & recover songs that are still on the hard drive.
