I ONLY want people who've had this specific problem (and were able to fix it) to reply!! I can't get rid of this adware, and I've tried TrendMicro, SpyBot, AdAware6.0, Yahoo Anti-Spy...and nothing works!!! Some of them have detected the Adware, but they just can't remove it. It's funny how that company markets itself as antivirus/antiadware/antispyware but is a virus itself or adware/spyware. I am really frustrated because when I am in the middle of something, out of nowhere, the stupid thing pops up(it happens about 5 times a day), and it takes about 2 minutes for me to close out all the adware windows and for me to resume what I was doing on the internet. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!

There is a great site http://forum.networktechs.com/t1819059447-attention-read-me-before-posting-for-help.html

That will help you with whatever you need. Try doing all of step two that you have not done. if that does not work then do the hijackthis... (VERY IMPORTANT TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PROPERLY USE THE HIJACKTHIS PROGRAM)

This can be a real problem. Unfortunately, there are a lot of programs that call themselves antispyware that are actually spyware themselves.

As a last resort you can always save your data, reformat and reinstall windows. Short of that, you're going to have to find and delete all of the files associated with the program (including the one it's using to recreate itself). You will also probably have to delete all registry entries to entirely clean your system. This can be next to impossible for anyone who is not truly skilled.
Try this:
1. type "msconfig" at a command prompt, then go to your startup tab. Carefully go through each program listed to make sure it's one you want to load. Clear the ones you're uncertain of, delete the ones you know you don't want.
2. Get a free program called Winpatrol. It will list all startup programs, active tasks, etc. Search the tabs for startup programs, "browser helpers", services, etc. Disable or delete the files associated with your problem.
3. If that fails, when the popups start look in Winpatrol for "active tasks". Your culprit will almost certainly be running at that moment. get all the details you can (particularly the program name/location). Kill the task, then do regedit to remove all references to the program in the registry.
4. Failing that, I suspect it's beyond your skill. Certainly more than I could help with here. Reformat and reload.

Before using any anti-adware/spyware you should educate yourself how to use these programs in a MOST EFFECTIVE way. There are some setting required, before running scans, if you want to remove these bugs from your system, permanently. Microsoft has given essential & very helpful information in the following links. Follow these steps completely to eliminate those spy/ads

I'm having the exact same problem! I got Win AnitVirusPro to stop popping up by going to Control Panel + Internet Options + Security and adding it to Restricted Sites (Red Circle on the right).

Since doing that I am getting a multitude of different pop-ups, many claiming to be anti-virus, anti-spy ect, as well as home buying sites, survey sites, ect.. I've tried to keep up with adding them to my Restricted Sites but there are way too many!

I'll definitely be watching this question. Thanks for asking it.

WinAntiVirus popups are caused by a Vundo(Virtumonde) infection. In most cases, it can be removed by a special tool called VundoFix. It is available here:

(scroll to botom of page)

Although I have never tried it, a program called Prevx, claims to remove vundo, but it is a paid program. They may have a free trial.

Hope this helps you and the OP, Jaz, with the problem.
