Terorists murder innocents on purpose. That is different than "collateral damage". Very different. Regardless of Noam Chomasky;s opinion. My question (to Muslims and nonbelievers alike) is: Are "peaceful" Muslims under a moral obligation to stop the terrorists to the best of their ability or at the very least to speak out forcefully against them? If they simply retreat into silence, are they not in collusion with the murderers?

They are all Muslims.
If Christians did these things, then we would not call them Christians. The Muslim religion (if you can call it that) is full of passages about revenge, killing Christians and Jews and racial slanders.
I don't trust the silent ones either.

Your question shouldn't be directed at just Muslims. It should be directed to the whole world. If speaking out is a "moral obligation" are Muslims held to a higher standard of moral fiber than the rest of the the people that inhabit this planet? Terrorism is wrong. However the recent attitude that Muslims and people from the Middle East are responsible for terrorism is just stupidity and ignorance. It is the responsibility of the human race to speak out against injustice. There are few things that people of all ethnicitys, religions, and nationalities know to be wrong... Killing people is one of them.

The Muslims whinge of how the international treats them, yet as an entire, they act like a set of righteously offended little ones. If Peacful Muslims international huge pick to be treated better, then step up and do some thing about it. in the different case, you're not any better than the those who purely sat decrease back and let Hitler do his ingredient, purely because they had to get alongside.

Sorry, I agree with the No.

Let me ask you this: Would you behead a muslim kid just to get the muslims attention? Of course not. That is how far out of sanity's reach al queda and their likes are. They would spit on anything an average muslim would have to say to them.

I would bet there are Muslims in our army fighting FOR us, not against us.

"Christians" tolorate the "Good 'Ol USA" doing a lot of "neccessary" things while looking the other way. And no, I'm not a liberal. Just a reformed conservative.

They are under the same moral obligation that Christians, Buddhists, Agnostics, Athiests, and any other religion to speak out against terrorists.

The cliche` phrase "Evil triumphs, when good men do nothing to stop it" comes to mind. But the propagandist holy war declared on your people 40 years ago, (and still being waged) should not have remained unanswered. The question really is; "Has it been answered enough?" Good Muslims like you have to ask yourself that question, and another; "Isn't it wiser to expose the war that has been long ongoing to those that don't understand that they are backing it? Or to continue with primal animal violence?"

It is not fair to single out muslims. terrorists come from every inch of the earth, every religion, every political background. it does not matter.

ANYONE who witholds information that will help stop terror, should be dealt with the same way as those who are blowing themselves up, and plotting crimes that will kill innocents.

I don't think it's fair to condemn every Muslim who doesn't choose
to speak up. Not everyone wants to step into the spotlight. Do we
loudly denounce every Christian who commits a crime? Most
people don't.
We are all responsible for our own actions, not necessarily the actions of other people.

Keep in mind some muslims are afraid of being targeted themselves if they speak out against the fanatics. You can't really blame them for wanting to avoid trouble.

Yes. If you are part of a social group you will be associated with the actions of anyone else from that group until you express your separation from those actions
