This is COMPLETELY subjective, but to me crimson is a purer red, while maroon has some brown in it and burgundy has some purple. Other people's perceptions may vary.

Maroon has more purple in it, where as burgundy derives it's hue from deeper brown shades and red has more yellow than the other two, plus red is a primary color:)

Maroon is purpley brown, burgundy is brownish red, and crimson has a little more red than burgundy.

Burgundy has more purple undertones, and maroon has more brown undertones. Your dress is probably burgundy. Burgundy is known as more of a wine-like colour.

maroon is kinda brown, like dried blood. burgundy is a bluer shade of red, and crimson is a very intense red.
