Music Television yet it is only on type of music(Rap or hip hop whatever you want to call it) and nothing else but Reality television. So how so they get off call them selves Music Television or Mtv. Think about it before you answer.

I watch MTV everyday, and I have to agree with you. I think they should have stuck with music instead of reality television because most people would pick music over reality anyday. Beside, you know most of their reality shows have scripts they follow............like with Laguna Beach, LC even said (maybe it was Kristen) but anyway she even said that not everything was real some of it was put in to make the show have more drama. I do like MTV but some of the stuff they come up with is just plan stupid. They do play music but its really early in the morning. Although they should change their name we both know its not going to happen.

I agree with you... it used to have music, and it made sense for that to be the name, but now it doesn't and its all reality shows that no one really cares about unless they have no lives, so the name doesn't fit anymore. Even Vh1 changed because they want to keep up with MTV, and soon all other music channels will have reality crap on it.

not true MTV doesn't in my opinion show enough hip hop but if they did reach my satisfaction of hip hop music they'd have to call themselves bet2
But it's good to see some else is sick of the mtv's programing and if it make you feel any better most of those "reality shows" aren't real any way it just lame a$$ actors pretending it's real based on true life but surprisingly falls short.

No because the reality is that it's just little short movies with music. I think it should remain MTV.

oh wow i totally agree with you but they have been MTV for how many years now? i dont believe that they should change their name because they have been mtv for like 20 years or more. but they definately need to go back to the way they used to be. i dont watch them anymore for that reason!

I agree with you,. I haven't watch that channel in a long time for the same reasons. And not only that, but some of the reality series are so bad and stupid it makes the commercials inbetween funnier.

No. I think that you don't really watch mtv cuz rap is not the only kind of music on it... theres pop and rock too. but to each their own i guess...

Yes definitely...i dont know why ppl watch mtv. They have the dumbest shows....except for Pimp My Ride. But yeah it was suppose to be music ch. but no music there...and TRL blows too. I prefer FUSE TV. ALL MUSIC VIDS.
Reality shows must go as well...only ppl wit no lives watch those. And ppl keep coming up wit new things to bring to tv and ppl watch it.

The "M" in MTV stands for Manure.I see no reason to change it.

Well, you do have a point....I guess if it has to be changed, then it should be changed...If not, then oh well. Not many people really care about the name of that particular station....Just the shows that are aired on it.
