The result has a lot of noise and the quality is not good. Also, I wan to be able to use it with transparency but it seems that I am not using the right choices in the save image dialoge box. What is dither and PNG? I am so lost here. Could anyone give me a hand. Any tutorials or help will be greatly appreciate.

as for the quality problem.

gif - basically this format remembers every pixel of the image and allows transpherent colours.
gif is good for simple images like text ect

jpeg - basically this format remembers every like 1 in 9 pixels it does not allow transpherency.
jpeg is good for detailed images like a photgraph ect.

png - this is a pattern based format not certain exactly how it works but im sure its more effective when u use build in desighns eg. linear colour changing, dont belive it allows transpherency.

also may i add that u should reduce your image dimentions to reduce file size.

keep in mind that the average viewers screen is 980pxl wide.

and dont forget to add the .gif extention in the image element

Save it as .PNG... it's the highest quality for an image. If you use .gif, .jpg, etc it will be grainy and pixely because Photoshopped pictures are high quality images. So yes, save it as .PNG and it'll look great!

When you see a picture you want to save on the web right click your mouse & point to save as...I save it to my desktop so I can then just click it & into my photshop & do what I want with it from there.
