False positive results can result from diseases like choriocarcinomas, IgA deficiencies, heterophile antibodies, enterocystoplasties, gestational trophoblastic diseases (GTD), gestational trophoblastic neoplasms (GTN), and testicular germ cell malignancies. Also, many home pregnancy tests show a positive or unclear result when read well after the suggested 3-5 minute window, independent of an actual pregnancy; this type of false positive is also known as an evaporation line. Additionally anyone who has been given an hCG injection would also give a false positive.
Some individuals react to some substrate in the test and thus will display a consistently low positive blood pregnancy test even though they are not pregnant. This phantom hCG may lead to serious misdiagnosis and intervention, but can be detected with serial dilutions. Patients with phantom hCG have a positive blood hCG but a negative urine hCG test

The pregnancy test looks for a hormone only found in pregnant women. There is a likely chance of a false negative if she isn't far enough along to detect the HCG hormone. The chances that she would have a false positive are extremely rare unless she was having a miscarriage and she was loosing that hormone. I hate to break it to you but the test doesn't give a false positive. There is not an illness or condition that would make it turn up positive. If she is not having intercourse with you she is having it with someone else cause it just doesn't lie when it says "Positive" Good luck !

Actually, there is a specific kind of ovarian cancer that can cause a pregnancy test to give a false positive. Also, not saying she's loose, but she may be pregnant from someone else. If there's no chance of that, I'm sorry for saying it, but it can happen. She prolly doesn't have cancer, but she may want to go to the doctor and have them test. They can test her blood, which gives a more accurate reading.

My doctor said that they could be wrong if they are negitive but that if it is positive that is because the hormone is pregnant that only is produced during pregnacy. Are you checking it at the right time though? If you leave them too long they all turn positive. Bottom line you need to go to the doctor and at some point she had intercourse. It could be further along then you think though too and it is possible to get your period while you are pregnant.

there are several possibilities, but maybe you should just go to the doctor instead of using an at home pregnancy test....at least a doctor could give you a 100% definite answer....make an appointment asap

If you both have never had sex, why is she testing?
She may have cysts on her ovaries, though I don't know that that would make the test positive.
Have your lady checked out by her doctor.
