The Current World Record is 12.88 seconds by Liu Xiang of China. This run took place in 2006 and is pending ratification as of now.

Liu Xiang of China, who also was the co-holder of the previous record (12.91) set a new record of 12.88. Dominique Arnold of USA who led for most of the race, and finished second in 12.90 seconds, which of course is also under the old record. His time is the new American record, breaking the old record of Allen Johnson (12.92)
