From the appendices at the end of the third book, Legolas was the last to go (many years after the fall of Sauron). He and some of his woodland kin remained in Middle Earth until after Aragorn/Elessar died, then he built a ship and sailed west. The book suggests that Gimli was permitted by the Powers that Were to go with him, because of their friendship.

No, we know for a fact that Arwen stayed with Aragorn. In fact, I think it was only some of Elrond's group that left. I believe Legolas stayed behind as well, but I am not certain.

I think some stay (by what we see in the movies) . . . Legalos, Arwin, and if you remember, a contingent of Elven archers stayed to do battle, along with Arwin's father . . . there is nothing in the movies to indicate that any who stayed behind ever left, or vice versa for that matter! . . . I wish I could tell you if the books say anthing about it, but I haven't read them . . . YET!!

I think some stay because in the appendix in the back of the book Return of the King, after Aragorn's death Arwen goes leaves Gondor and dies shortly after.

The only elf who stayed was what's her name that married the King( Stryder) or whatever his name was. I can't remember names because it has been a while since I read it. I do remember it saying that they had to leave middle earth for the age of men.

I think they all leave in the end... the only one I know of that stays for a long time is Legolas who wanders with Gimli. But I think even he leaves eventually.

jus two left elrond and that lady on that ship who also carried gandalf bilbo and frodo the rest of the elves stayed but left rivendale to go somewhere

All of them left, and may I just say Orlando Bloom looked really hot in the movie. I mean really really hot!
